Move to website

It's been a while between postings and it's due to a move on my part towards a website rather than the upkeep of this blog. I was aiming to keep both but I just don't have the time so my website address is below.

Please feel free to pop on over and say hello!

Tigress Dreaming

Tigers are renowned for representing sensuality, passion, darkness (night), devotion, confidence, courage, independence, healing, patience, being in the now and the new moon. She often symbolises the lower chakras, predominantly – solar, sacral and base/root. They can have a motherly, protective energy or can alternatively be quite aloof and cheeky. It depends on the individual. They make for very potent and intense Power Animals.

I have not included the gorgeous mythical white tiger on principle. They aren't a sub-species and have been inter-bred in certain countries far too much for their rarity and uniqueness. They are indeed a result of irregular genes and as such should not be bred with each other. It causes horrendous mutations, dis-ease and health problems. The irregular genes should be left to appear whenever nature intends - not some human breeder or organisation aiming to 'boost' numbers. It is a natural process and I hate seeing it exploited for profits. This of course goes for all creatures who are born of this irregular colouring to their species. I agree that in the wild they may not survive but that does not give humans the permission to start breeding weaker genes with weaker genes - it will only cause pain and suffering as the gene pool gets lessened (as has already happened but not reported). It's absolute nonsense.

Keep these amazing creatures in their pure form, not bred for irregularities as some sort of spectacle. Each individual is unique and beautiful in their own right. I really do wish humans would butt their heads out of natural processes. I admit that these animals need our protection and help as a result of deforestation, I just sorely wish that it was in the form of a giant national park where nature could still thrive. Nature is intelligent, adaptive and resourceful - if only we gave it a chance.

Metaphysical properties of Citrine/Amethyst/Natural Citrine ~ one of the same

This is my own little Citrine cave bought at the glorious Crystal Castle in Mullumbimby, near Byron Bay on the north-east coast of NSW.

Citrine is a beautiful yellow/gold crystal that helps with manifestation, abundance, optimism, increasing energy flow and positive outlooks to difficult situations. Most citrine quartz on the market today are actually heat treated. I mention this because they are mostly amethyst quartz before they are heated and become the citrine sold like this one above. Both have very different qualities. Natural citrine - which resembles more closer to smokey quartz is an excellent cleanser, manifesting mineral, great for purification, getting through difficult situations, stamina and also maintaining business direction, focus and productivity. They are more difficult and rare to come by. I do have a small piece myself which I will post a photo of later in the week.

Amethyst in its natural uncoloured or heated form is excellent for emotional stability/alignment, gentle healing, meditation, developing intuition and opening the third eye chakra. It is wonderfully soft and nurturing - an excellent crystal for beginners, those who are more grounded and sceptical.

SunRay Ethos

Beautiful photo I snapped down a local track in the exquisite Australian bushland. It features the famous 'scribbly gumtree' (Eucalyptus haemastoma) and the spikes of the 'grass tree' (Xanthorrhoea) taken at sunset through a hallow made by fire.

Embrace The WHOLE You!

I know I have been neglecting this blog for a couple of months now and I am terribly sorry! I have been in California/Arizona and briefly Nevada for a month visiting a good friend of mine who moved out there over 6 months ago now. That itself was over a month ago; I have made a ritual deer-skin drum from start to finish in that time, I am also currently doing consultations wednesday mornings at a Pilates Studio in Hornsby, Sydney, NSW, Australia (contact me for details or visit my NEW website!!). Plenty of various tid pits to share with you all. I have an official website now which you can easily access on the side navigation panel, above the link to my Facebook page - which has now been slowed down to make way for more practical current pursuits. I am studying my MA in Writing so I will be focusing my energy towards that end in about a week when classes resume. I love keeping the mind active! I have also completed my Practitioner Certificate in the wonderful healing energy of Seichim Reiki, centred around Sekhmet, a mighty Egyptian Goddess.

Below is an article featured on my website about embracing the good, the bad, the dark and the light sides of who you really are instead of running for the hills in denial. Focusing on one more than the other isn't healthy or constructive. Balance is the key and it something that we will always be negotiating - we certainly aren't perfect!

"Eventually we turn a corner; standing at the crossroads, we look back upon our path. We do this at least once along our merry way, standing there upon that precipice – looking out into the valley, across our winding path that led us to this summit: this place of contemplation.

As we look behind, sometimes our path looks shrouded in mist and memory, these memories sit out from the landscape like little rocky outcrops or a herd of grazing deer. In others it looks so very far away but completely clear like the golden rock of a mountainside. Our biggest step in life can be that little leap of faith. Knowing when to turn the corner, when to look back and when to look forward.

Sometimes the trail we thought was open, in fact was completely closed. Often, it is our very selves who had shut the road but couldn't move a step forward to find an alternative path. Human nature can be so very cruel. We combat so much fear, doubt and anger every day. We mistrust and judge ourselves and our very nature so much that we cannot see what simply is. That recognition that we have chosen the more difficult path or the one that takes us longer is essential. Ownership of our own lives, trust in what lies ahead and faith in ourselves to carry us on is what must keep us going.

These little acknowledgements and sidetracks are not depressive or negative. We all know that life can be difficult and we search for the light in the dark times, this is natural. We all reflect and we all look back in hindsight, these pinnacles help us to grow, mature and develop ourselves. In Shamanism and indeed many cultures and spiritual practices, sitting within the dark is considered a means to the end. Instead of searching out the light, you identify and acknowledge the darker aspects (the fear, anxiety, stress, personality traits, the difficult situations). By identifying and acknowledging, we can move past these grievances that have occurred by processing them in their pure and very raw states. I find that we are moving into an age where we focus so much on affirmation and ‘light and fluffy’ that this darker side is sometimes being swept under the carpet rather than acknowledged.

None of us are perfect, life is a working progress and by embracing the cycle of both reflection and revelation (dark/light) we can become aware of our complete selves, not by detachment or enchantment but by simple raw honesty and acknowledgement. Know who you are.

Life is never straight ahead, the choices we make may shape us but they can never truly break us. Don’t be afraid to make a decision with the expectation that it may not turn out as you hoped. Trust your gut, weigh up your options and never berate yourself for making an apparent ‘mistake’. These ‘mistakes’ are really golden nuggets in retrospect."

'The Direct Path' by Andrew Harvey

Andrew Harvey has written some really interesting lectures. I have discussed in length, many of the very same ideas like 'The Direct Path'. I can't remember who this quote is by but it's something like ~ "It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey". I don't understand when people say, "I just want to be 'there' already". Be where already? And what do you suppose you'll do once everything on that imaginary list is complete and your standing at the 'there' moment? Possibly bored out of your brains and already constructing another list. Do you think that life will stop at that perceived moment and pat you on the shoulder? You have to allow yourself to pat YOU on the shoulder NOW. There will always be something to contend with no matter what life we have chosen; we're living, we're breathing, the world is moving around us. It's all in the perception because as the post below states, we already ARE THERE. We are what we seek - it's all inside us.

NEWS FLASH ~ there in no such thing as reaching the 'destination' in spiritual or metaphysical terms. Even the Angels themselves are always developing. That thing or happiness which we all strive for is within and realistically you could give it any name under the sun and it's still within your individual soul. Forget materialistic possession for 5 seconds. Concentrate on the here and now (the Earth stuff) because there's plenty of other work when we pass from this life!
Many blessings, Kris

Mini Australian Animal Reading

Platypus                 Tawny Frogmouth               Whale

Three keepers of ancient wisdom have stepped forward today - there's a very definite pattern here!! Read the mini reading below of whichever animal you are drawn to!

Platypus ~
This majestic and secretive animal is dominated by inner trust, learning to embrace our connection with Mother Earth, have faith in our own power, intuition and wisdom. You have the ability within to make sound decisions, so trust that you are the one with the right answers - not those who may try and sway your decisions. Whatever choices you are faced with currently, there is one that you know is the right path ahead so go with your 'gut' and you can't go wrong! This is a time to focus on yourself and your dreams or goals, be creative and take some time out! Seeking sanctuary (going for a walk etc) is a great way to release those pent up emotions.

Tawny Frogmouth ~
These wonderfully silver night creatures are the keepers of ancient wisdom. They encourage us to seek the knowledge of our elders, sit down and have a chat about their past and share their experiences with you. It's time for family, bringing a cohesion of generations and really sharing that history and love. Now is not the time to turn your back on advice offered by those older than yourself. You may be feeling scattered and lost so seek the advice of your loved ones. It will do you all the world of good! It is also a time to ask the Spirit elders for their guidance. Deep meditation and alone time is equally essential at this time.

Whale ~
This ancient creature is also a keeper of wisdom. The pattern of our ancestors and the deep connection we have with the cycles (day/night, seasons, tides, astrology) are all inherent in the wisdom of the whale. Whale encourages us to look within and reconnect to these ancient patterns. It's time to take those uplifting and spiritually, emotionally and physically beneficial classes you've been thinking about. It's also time to really tune in to your genetic make-up and swing onto the path that you were destined to follow. You are entering an emotionally cleansing time (often quite bumpy and frustrating) where you might not see the light yet. But it is there and ask Whale to help you find the answers that you seek.

Green Sea Turtle Dreaming

Original Image source thanks to: Australian Geographic!

A few days ago I had the amazing privilege of working with a clients Green Sea Turtle Power Animal. They really are the most incredibly quirky, resilient, patient and wise creatures. Everything has a time, a place and an element of balance. They speak to us of many ancient rhythms - some we have long forgotten and are slowly reawakening to now. What struck me about this particular power animal was his serenity, if I had to describe him, it seemed as if he were an ancient Monk - with that odd but warm sense of humour. Turtles are patient, they know how to protect themselves and share an innate (as many animals) union with the lunar and celestial movements. There is no rush with turtle energy, it's literally about going with the tides, sensing the seasons and following ancient pathways. Just writing about my experience with this particular turtle brings me to a place of complete peace. Water itself is incredibly cleansing and the turtle highlights the power of listening to the great Mother Earth. I feel very blessed to have shared this energy.

Moonlight Madness

Just thought I would share this little positive affirmation I created. That's a scarf that I knitted as well! Don't forget to sing, dance, laugh and smile your way through every situation. The world doesn't need more hate - there's plenty as it is and hate doesn't conquer hate. Fear and intolerance can do horrible things to otherwise rational creatures. If you are frustrated at someone, instead of sending death stares and anger - try sending love and forgiveness (not by actions, just thoughts) - you'll be amazed at the transformation in you, them and the space you occupy.

Love and blessings,
Kris

Snake Dreaming

This stunning Diamond Python slithered onto my fence a few weeks ago now. We all know by now that this is year of the Snake. It is time to really shed the old and step into the new. Shedding old baggage can be difficult. The reward is great and incredible when you get there but the climb can seem endless. Snakes will travel all over the place to rid themselves of their old skin - it gets itchy, stuck and irritating. All features that will show themselves and make this year harder for some. The easiest method is to simply let go of expectation - you need to slide along like the snake and things flow around you. It will make the shedding easier if you don't fight it whole the way.

Snake offers us wisdom and knowledge of rebirth, transformation and duality, the ability to intuitively embrace cycles, aspects of self reflection, regeneration, healing and infinite balance.

The key to any growth or revelation is to understand that we are in perfect unison for that moment if our life. Don't try and race towards the finish. If we strive towards goals and manifestations we actually set ourselves up to fail. The journey includes all the wrong turns, pain and suffering - else we look back and see nothing because we have come from no where. The trials of Snake reveal who we are. Just listen. Sit and listen to nature and instead of shutting out that first thought as 'silly' or your mind playing tricks (don't doubt) - how about running with it and asking that thought more questions. You may be surprised at what answers you get!

King Parrot Dreaming (just a snippet)

I wrote this shortly after having this photo taken with this beautiful boy but didn't realise it was my Shamanic spirit tuning in to what he was saying.

"Australian King Parrot's are gorgeous creatures who teach us about compassion, smart decision making, loyalty, romance, finding your inner passion, divine timing, need to observe before act and a certain element of the beauty in life that comes from revealing your true colours with humility."

Current Watercolour Artworks!

I've been doing some painting lately and having an absolute blast - these are all semi finished. The wolf is my spirit guide, I am very proud to be able to commit him to paper!

This handsome man is Eirik - my wolf guide. Love him to pieces and would be lost without his steady guidance xx

This is a gorgeous friends guide - a very particular and feisty Jaguar.

And this gentle giant is also a friends animal guide - a nurturing and soulful Humpback Whale.

Time out!

Hi there everyone!

I am sorry for being quiet - likely something I will always do as I crave nature and writing, painting etcetera. Sometimes sitting at the computer gets tedious. But I do love writing, there's plenty coming your way today!

I have some mineral, animal, artwork and some excerpts of writing to share with you all! Stay tuned as I get to work!

Love and blessings,
Kris

The Shamanic Journey - Power Animal Dreaming

Shamans will traverse the 3 inner realms of the Lower, Middle and Upper worlds. Sounds like rattling or drumming help people to descend into these inner worlds where you can meet different guides and spirits. This is often where you confront the darkest, most hidden parts of yourself. It can be a scary thing to see and have to deal with all that stuff you neatly stashed away in the corner. The things you usually refuse to acknowledge, let alone mention. Some of what you encounter in these journeys can sound bizarre but I'm willing to share :)

Developing a personal shamanic practice for me is about embracing and listening to everything in the natural world - as it is, not how we want to see it or how we need it to be.

During a beautiful journey last night (after some fun drumming dedicated to the spirits), I encountered my normal power animals but my wolf had some business he needed me to attend to. Had no idea where we were going until we encountered a massive black wolf - he is the elder and the leader of all leaders. Can't describe exactly how intimidated I felt but he has a calmness to him as well. We sat and chatted - or her told me certain rules that I must follow anyway. The pack and dog energy requires a certain set of principals I guess you'd call them and I currently do a fare bit of dog reiki and communication for which I was asking guidance on. I've actually dreamt of this massive black wolf before in some rather odd dreams with me also as a wolf, it all makes a lot of sense now! My boy is the link between me and this great spirit. There's a fare bit more to add but I won't bore/scare you all! Happy to chat more if anyone feels like it :)

Oh and I now have names as well! My wolf is called Eirik and my tawny frogmouth (owl relation) is called Faith. Very appropriate!

Blessings to everyone xxx

"Spiritual Beings having a human experience!"

I have taken this photo from a beautiful Facebook page called 'surfing rainbows' and added my own thoughts about this concept below. This post is also on my facebook page!

Which to me means we should embrace our human-ness while we have this wonderful life! Having fun and enjoying our moments, in whatever form that takes for us individually, is important :) we don't all fit any particular mould.

Here's a few words about my human experience ~ I adore my moments of peace and sanctuary with nature, I tend to feel confined or weighed down easily if I don't have solitude moments throughout my day. Drumming madly while dancing around singing is also a highlight of mine! People and our quirky ways, our individual understandings, beliefs and minds fascinate me! Our diversity is mind-boggling, it's brilliant! Crowds or stagnation can make me squirmish, I have grown to love change and tranquility. I have also grown to love and respect every aspect of my true nature, no matter the 'apparent' little faults and glitches, they make me who I am in that very moment without back-thought or fore-thought projection and that's perfect... just like it is :)

Many many blessings to everyone out there who follows my page/blog and I look forward to an amazing new year with you all!

Mouse Dreaming

Welcome to 2013 beautiful spirits! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, many many blessings to you all again!

Our first animal dreaming for 2013 is the Common Mouse - deceptively small and overlooked. Don't dismiss the teachings of this little guy for they provide a wonderful foundation to the year ahead.

The Common Mouse is perhaps one of the most interesting and important keepers of wisdom for us to be reminded of in a brand NEW year. They are cunning, sure-footed and will test everything before they throw themselves into any situation. Mouse teaches us to be cautious and test the waters before we enter any concrete contracts or prospects that involve other people. We all know this is the time when we take on new beginnings and start afresh but Mouse is here to warn us not to be hasty in our decsions. It pays to send out our feelers and sense whether things seem right or aren't as they should be. We are also asked to look at the details and smaller aspects of life - making sure we don't miss anything in our hurry to reach the goals for the year. Mouse offers a very different perspective to those more prominent and larger spirit animals, it's the work of strong foundations for the year that will reap the rewards. We also know that because Mouse is so frequently overlooked, he places emphasis on the fact that EVERYONE, no matter how small you feel, can achieve the most amazing things. You just need to remember to focus on the little things in life in order to never miss the most important aspects. All the tiny pieces in the puzzle will eventually pull together as they were meant to as the year progresses - it may not look they way you had imagined (e.g in the form of a little mouse) but it will create the greater goal. Focusing on everything out there in the heavens or cosmos or third dimension can make us feel incredibly lost and unseen, don't forget to take a look around and see that you have already begun the journey. One whisker at a time everyone - (believe me) there is no hurry!!

I was visited by a little bush mouse last night whilst sitting outside, their agility and ability to assess situations is really quite remarkable for such little creatures. They really can move mountains when they put their mind to it - anything is possible. And the sound of their little feet tapping across my deck brought a smile to my face - I know that in the great circle of life that these little creatures also help feed Mother Tawny Frogmouths babies. She is my gorgeous spirit guide so I have the upmost respect (as she does) for the abilities of Mouse which she then passes to her children.
